Takahe Native Bird Soft Toy

This colourful, cuddly bird is inspired by the Takahe, one of the world's most endangered birds. Formerly widespread throughout New Zealand, it was throught to be extinct by 1900. In 1948 however, a small population was rediscovered in the Murchison Mountains of the South Island.
The Department of Conservation is now attempting a recovery programme to ensure its future survival. Purchase of this product supports a NZ conservation project.
